The District 28 Board of Education approved the appointment of Mitch Dubinsky as the next Principal of Westmoor School at its regular Board meeting on February 24, 2026.

In the third Insight 28 episode of the 25-26 school year, Host Dr. Jason Pearson, Superintendent of Schools, sits down for a discussion with Maria Eck, Westmoor Principal, and Heather Juhl, Architect from DLA Architects, to discuss how the Build 28 renovations and additions at Westmoor are going to enhance teaching and learning for students and staff.

At the December 2 Board of Education meeting, the district's Teaching & Learning Department presented recently released data from the 2025 Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR). The data shows that District 28 student proficiency in English Language Arts (ELA) and Math ranks among the highest in the state.

Westmoor is in its third year of implementing a ‘pack’ program. A Bulldog Pack has a total of 7-10 students, with representation from each grade. Pack meetings are led by one or two adults.
