Teachnet.comThe Teachnet.com Web site is full of simple solutions for the everyday classroom. Instead of simply giving you lesson plans, the site gives you lesson plan ideas. Additional features include terrific advice about everything from decorating bulletin boards to increasing attendance to great five-minute activities for transitional moments during the day.
TeachnologyA dream come true, this website has something for every teacher’s needs. The vast amount of information is organized so that everything can be found quickly and easily. Click on Web Tools for Educators and you will find tools to create anything from bus passes to student contracts. Teachers can even create their own free Web site. Check out "Ideas that Worked" to find projects, Ice breakers, counseling strategies and more! Teach-nology also provides excellent technology tutorials. Sign up for its newsletter and receive free weekly teaching tips.
I Love That Teaching Idea!This website offers hundreds of brief activity ideas, many submitted by teachers, for elementary students (K-6). Ideas are grouped into categories such as Bulletin Boards, Classroom Management, First Day, and Learning Centers.
The Learning PageThe Learning Page offers a vast array of professionally produced instructional materials for elementary teachers. Lesson plans, activities and worksheets are available. Most of the resources are for preschool to 3rd grade.
PBS TeacherSourceThe definitive source for materials to accompany PBS programs, this site offers over 4500 lesson plans and activity sheets. Free registration permits you to personalize your “Teacher Source” to provide you with quick access to your most relevant content for subject, grade level, and location.

Teachingbooks.netThis is a subscription database that is paid for JUST FOR YOU! TeachingBooks.net provides original, in-studio movies of authors and illustrators and a wealth of multimedia resources on K-12 books that generate enthusiasm for books and reading. Just sign up and log in - it’s FREE!
Carol Hurst’s Children’s Literature SiteIf you need some inspiration on how to make better use of classroom books, this site can help. A collection of book reviews, ways to use the books in the classroom, activities, and professional topics are just a few of the aspects of this website.
Aesop’s Fables: Online CollectionA treasure trove of fables makes this a great spot to visit during the study of Aesop. The collection has more than 625 of his tales as well as a variety of audioversions with which children can read along. Great highlights include background information on the life and times of Aesop, a selected group of 180 easy reading fables, and more than 120 easy fairy tales by Hans Christian Anderson.
The Writing CenterThis site-recommended for students who have familiarity with footnotes - provides brief instructions for the major style sheets (APA, Chicago, Turabian, and MLA).

Math.comThis great site is easy to navigate with a wealth of math-related materials and resources. Kids can access a range of mathematical tools; take advantage of the excellent test prep, study tips or homework help, or hone their math skills with challenging puzzles, games, and one-minute interactive drills.
Kidzone MathIt’s “just the facts, ma’am” at this useful site, which offers online games and downloadable worksheets on the basics: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Have a collection of the worksheets on hand to fill a few minutes of time - and provide valuable practice for standardized tests.
Science
ENature - What’s the difference between the Yellow MudTurtle and its cousin the common mud turtle? Find the answer at ENature, your online guide to more than 4,800 North American plants and Animals.
BridgeThis truly amazing website has collected the best online resources for marine science. Materials are organized into the following categories: ocean science topics, resources, data port, elementary grades, and communications.
How Stuff Works In language we can all understand, with clear diagrams to supplement text, this website explains both natural phenomena and human inventions.

Social Studies
The History PlaceThe History Place is a must-bookmark site for all history and social studies teachers. There are a variety of featured exhibits on topics ranging from Abraham Lincoln to the Irish Potato Famine.
National Geographic Education - Click the orange tab at the top of the page that says Lesson Plans and connect to a few hundred lesson plans related to geography.
Technology Websites
4TeachersA website for teachers to use to integrate technology into their classrooms. Resources such as Quizstar, Rubistar, Lesson Plans and Webquests can be found at this invaluable site.
Landmarks for SchoolAlthough there are many time-saving features to the site, teachers especially appreciate the templates for making rubrics. Web pages, and writing letters asking permission to use information on a Web site. Links to Web sites have descriptions of the site, ideas for using it in the classroom, and, with the click of a mouse, the Web site is linked to a template that can be used to create a lesson. After free registration, these lessons can be stored at the site and then linked to a classroom Web page for easy access by students.
