Register for Before- and After-School Care K-5

District 28 offers KidCare, a before- and after-school program at each elementary school. Children are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

KidCare registration for the 2024-2025 school year will open on April 16, 2024 at 7 p.m.. To register, please visit our Web Store.

Class Assignments

Teacher’s name and room assignments will be emailed for Young Explorers and Kindergarten-Grade 5 students on Friday, Aug. 9..

Meet the Teacher

  • Elementary school (Grades 1-5) Parent & Child “Meet the Teacher” is Tuesday, Aug. 20 from 1:30-2:30 p.m.
  • Kindergarten is scheduled individually by school:

o   Meadowbrook is Aug. 20, 12:30-3:30 p.m.

o   Greenbriar is Aug. 20, 10 - 11 a.m.

o   Westmoor is Aug. 20, 9-11 a.m.

  • Junior High students will meet their teachers on the first day of school, Wednesday, Aug. 21.

Bus Transportation

Bus routes will be mailed to parents the week before school begins.  Bus passes will be handed out at Meet the Teacher or sent home with your student on the fist day of school.

First Day of School 2024

  • Kindergarten-8th Grade begin classes on Wednesday, Aug. 21
  • Young Explorers first day of class is Thursday, Aug. 22

Bus Service begins on the first day of school.

Student School Day Hours

  • Young Explorers AM:                8:45 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
  • Young Explorers PM:                12:30 p.m. - 3:15 p.m.
  • Grades K - 5                               8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
  • Grades 6, 7, & 8                         8:35 a.m. - 3:35 p.m.

Health Forms

Allergy, medication at school, epi pen and inhaler forms must be completed each year. Download the forms and submit to your child's school nurse. The Health Services Department provides detailed policy and procedures.

Required Health Exams

Student health, vision and dental exams are required for new students, early childhood, kindergarten and 6th grade. A dental exam required for kindergarten, 2nd-grade and 6th-grade students. Review the requirements and download the forms.
